Admiring Sunsets

In the photo above, I captured the sunset as we traveled one of the numerous highways and byways that Cephas and I find ourselves traveling upon. Our journeys as evangelists and peace ambassadors takes us from one side of the nation to another, in what seems like a continual flow. We are ever circling it seems. At times, we find ourselves returning to a place that we never thought we would come back to again.
This beautiful sunset was taken in southern Arizona in late 2006, as we traveled from California to Texas. I believe it was mid - autumn, maybe October or early November. We traveled from our Mom's home in Willits, California to a rainbow gathering Thanksgiving counsel that took place in Austin, Texas at the Enchanted Forest. I have photos that I will upload eventually. The place was a living forest artshow. Events are held regularly where theater, music and art play a significant role in the arts presentations. Sculpting with metal and earth objects are part of the theme displayed throughout the Enchanted Forest.
Cephas and I camped in the back section of what is a three acre site in the city of Austin. It seems as though one is in some remote forest with the thickets of trees. The railroad tracks are just outside the property line, so the occasional train reminds one that civilization is very close. Our tent was one of those two man smaller versions. It keeps us warm and dry, so we were very cozy in our surroundings.
As for sunsets, when we travel, I make a point of keeping a camera handy. When a view like this one comes along, Cephas and I will do handstands and somersaults in our vehicle to capture such an elusive moment on film. Enjoy the sunsets. They are what inspire dreams for the new day.
